United States Margarita
Drinking Trends
July 2, 2008
With
the fourth of July holiday approaching, it got us thinking about
what day of the year people most frequently enjoy the tequila
and lime based drink. Since October of 2006, Margarita
Texas has shared a wealth of margarita related information
including our most popular margarita recipes section.
During that time, we have noticed
many peeks and valleys when it comes to trends in visitor
traffic to the website, specifically visitors seeking recipes.
These highs and lows make up the drinking trends of the many
margarita lovers in the United States.
Holiday’s have always been
popular times to partake in the drinking of spirits. The
holiday experiencing the lowest number of margarita drinkers, to
our surprise, was Father’s Day. We attribute this to the
world's most popular alcohol, beer. This year experienced
an even larger drop-off than usual. In households across
America, one would have probably observed a father sitting on
the couch with a cold one watching Game 5 of the Celtics vs.
Lakers NBA finals and the US Open with Tiger Woods in
contention. The holiday weekend seeing over a 400% increase in
margarita enthusiasts was predictably Cinco de Mayo.
The specific day of the week also brings out margarita drinker.
Saturday produces the highest number of individuals
looking to celebrate the end of the week with everything from a
strawberry to a frozen margarita. On Monday, everyone most
be recovering from their weekend endeavors because this day
experiences the fewest drinkers. .
We personally think that a perfectly mixed margarita tastes
great any day. No matter what day of the year it is,
people across the United States are constantly searching for
information on constructing different versions of the number one
cocktail in the world, the margarita.
