Albuquerque Style Margarita Recipe

1 lime, cut into wedges
Coarse or kosher salt
1 (6 ounce) can frozen lime concentrate (or substitute 6oz Margarita Texas Mix)
3/4 cup tequila
6 tablespoons Triple Sec
1 (12 ounce) can lemon-lime or grapefruit soda
3 to 4 cup ice cubes
Lime twist for garnish
Lime peel for garnish

Rub rim of each cocktail glass with lime wedge; swirl glass in salt to coat rim. Combine half of each of the remaining ingredients, except garnishes, in blender container; blend until ice is finely chopped and mixture is slushy. Pour into salt-rimmed glasses. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Garnish, if desired.

the recipe is pretty good but more like a punch- the soda is a little strange. stick to the house rita in any restaurant in albuquerque. is you can still spell the town after drinking a couple then they aren't so great. for the best restaurant margaritas in new mexico - go to la posta in old mesilla square - just outside las cruces. yummy. on the rocks baby - not frozen, shame on you jimmy buffett!

HA !!! I was looking at the ingredients and was making a note to NEVER order margaritas in Albuquerque. Thanks for clarifying that is not the official margarita of your town.

6 oz of Lime Concentrate and 12 oz of Soda --- yuk -- that's not a margarita, that's just plain lazy.
