Review: There are strong margaritas that are hard to drink, on the other hand, there is the intense Super Terlingua, a powerful yet surprisingly balanced drink. At each sip (trust me, some may only be able to take a sip at a time) is an equal proportioned blast of flavor from all the ingredients. For margarita enthusiasts seeking a lighter easier to consume cocktail, the Skinny Margarita should satisfy your thirst. Their margarita menu features several other versions which we are eager to sample at future tastings.

Review: Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant in Waco has a generous variety of margaritas to fit any taste. Both versions we had the opportunity to sample were mixed perfectly. All of the ingredients were able to shine with a pleasant agave taste at the front. The balanced sweet and sour made it easy to order another.

Review: While we have created our own beer margarita in the past, sampling one from a restaurant that leaves the bottle in the glass was something we had yet to accomplish. The jumbo size drink is delivered with an entire Dos Equis Amber flipped upside down in a standard margarita. While their choice of beer initially paired perfectly with the drink, the amount of additional liquid from this lager started to drown out the lime and tequila flavor. The house margarita was a disappointment, cheap booze and muddled lime flavor ruined this drink. Four of us at the table tried to finish this version but failed.

Review: A dinner craving for sampling margaritas and consuming fajitas brought us to Fiesta Sombreros on Park Row. After glancing at the menu for a moment, the Don Julio was chosen from one of their few listed margaritas. During the first three or four sips we were overwhelmed with a blast of agave on our taste buds. This tequila dominate drink was poorly mixed with an inefficient amount of any lime based substance. A drink on the stronger side can be tasty but some sort of balance must be present.

Review: A magnificent sunny day out on the patio made for an enjoyable margarita tasting at La Margarita. The contents of the El Don were masterfully mixed in a generously proportioned margarita glass garnished with a lime wedge and salt. All of the key components of a great margarita were present but one flavor did not dominate our taste buds during any sip. The combination of perfect weather and mouth-watering margarita makes La Margarita one of our San Antonio favorites.

Review: Rita's on the River has an extensive margarita menu that suits anyone's tastes. Customers are encouraged to choose a specific blanco, reposado or anjeo tequila for their beverage. Our Platinum margarita with Three G's anjeo was the superior of the two drinks. The agave flavor from the tequila was at the forefront while the sweetness was almost hidden. The Don Juan had more of a muddled tequila flavor accentuating the balanced sweet and sour.
