Review: Tequila Patio caught our eye with their agave themed outdoor signage. Once inside, the bar appeared to stock quite a few brands of tequilas, which we would expect from an establishment with this name. While the margarita mix is smooth and low on the sugar factor, the taste is bland and somewhat watery. This margarita is only average and was a disappointment after going in with high expectations.

Review: As back to back 1st place winners for best restaurant margarita at the Waco Margarita and Salsa Festival in 2005 and 2006, El Chico Cafe knows how to serve up a quality margarita. Their Garder Rita is served in a jumbo glass wrapped around with an El Chico branded garder that you get to keep. It's contents are smooth and exhibit the right combination of sweet and sour. Though not a huge fan of orange juice in a margarita, those who do will enjoy the La Suavecita. The tequila in this version matched well with the other ingredients in this drink.

Review: Razzoo's Cajun Cafe has one margarita listed on their extremely decorative menu, the Mardi Rita. This frozen drink does not posses any extraordinary properties and can be best described as average. The taste reveals a generic lime margarita concentrate which is typical in a lot of frozen margarita machines. A proper balance of ingredients lessens a potentially oversweet beverage.

Review: As you walk into Mamacita's Mexican Restaurant you are immediately impressed by the incredible decorations and ladies making tortillas in the middle of the restaurant. The flavorsome top shelf margaritas are as equally memorable. Our taste buds were treated to a balance of flavors pairing superbly with the smoothness of the Patron tequila. We highly recommended the overall experience of Mamacita's.

Review: The San Antonio Riverwalk is known for serving up some of the best margaritas in Texas which is why we were extremely disappointed at our recent visit to Iron Cactus. Three different margaritas variations were tried and each one came out excessively sweet, two to the point of being undrinkable. We inquired over the taste of the drink and were relayed a shocking message from the bartender "we use real lime juice so you won't be able to taste the flavor of the tequila." WHAT? One of the key components of a great margarita is the flavor of the tequila. We applaud the fact that they use real lime juice but the over use of simple syrup and lack of flavor ruined these margaritas.

Review: Landry's Mexitini is shaken table side and poured directly to your martini style glass. While the choice of tequila could be improved, the drink was a refreshing blend of quality ingredients. We could tell it was a mix used rather than fresh limes but the overall taste was not drastically affected.
