Type of Margarita Tasted: The Golden on the rocks, The Perfect on the rocks
Ingredients Listed on Menu: The Golden - Jimador reposado, Grand Marnier & fresh lime juice, The Perfect - Herradura silver, Cointreau & fresh lime juice
Review: Pico's margarita's are extremely fresh. They must have a team of workers slaving away in the back squeezing limes all day. The perfect margarita was the better of the two tasted. This version was smooth and the fresh lime juice was a plus. The menu states that they hold the record for the world's largest margarita. That is no longer true but was quite impressive at the time.

Type of Margarita Tasted: Premium Margarita on the rocks
Ingredients Listed on Menu: Cavalino Blanco Tequila
Review: The margarita menu at Pico de Gallo's is not too complex ... frozen, on the rocks or premium. Their premium margaritas are made with Cavalino Blanco tequila which is exceptionally smooth. The tequila is what gives this margarita a balanced taste.

Type of Margarita Tasted: Sylvia's Ultra Premium Margarita & premium margarita on the rocks with salt
Ingredients Listed on Menu: Cavalino Blanco Tequila, Cavalino Reposado Tequila, Sylvia's Super Premium Margarita - El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila and Grand Gala
Review: The atmosphere at Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen is perfect for enjoying a margarita. Overall the margaritas are impressive as well. The drinks we ordered specifically with the Cavalino brand tequila came out great. We were able to taste the necessary flavor of the tequila while the other ingredients balanced out the margarita perfectly. The one disappointment was the the Sylvia's Ultra Premium margarita, the drink tasted more like tequila on ice than a margarita. The presence of anything sweet or sour were definitely missing.Address: 2414 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098 (map)

Type of Margarita Tasted: House margarita on the rocks with salt
Ingredients Listed on Menu: none
Review: Lupe Tortilla's house margarita has a pleasant taste and compliments their excellent fajitas. The one complaint is the strength of the drink. It appears their ratio of tequila to other ingredients is a little on the low side. The flavor of the tequila is an important part in making an above average margarita and that's where this margarita falls short.Address: 11660 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 (map)

Type of Margarita Tasted: "Famous Margarita"
Ingredients Listed on Menu: none
Review: Berryhill's "Famous Margarita" pours straight to your glass from the frozen margarita machine behind the bar. At first sip we could taste the overly added ingredient of orange juice which detracted from the overall taste of this drink. Next time we will avoid ordering the premade margarita and choose one with a premium tequila.*** THIS LOCATION HAS CLOSED ***

Type of Margarita Tasted: The Border Rita, The Meltdown
Ingredients Listed on Menu: The Border Rita - Cazadores Reposado and Cointreau, The Meltodown - "frozen margarita with a float of Cointreau"
Review: We were disappointed with the poor taste of The Border Rita sold at La Grande Margarita. This margarita was overly tart and felt like we were drinking a cheap store bought mix. The Meltdown made up for the low quality of the previous drink. This frozen margarita was strong, smooth and left you wanting to order another one.
